about me
Alania Mariano is a multimedia artist focusing in photography, film, and design. Born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania she always had a knack for using a camera and collaborating with others. Attending University of Delaware for her BFA in Fine Arts and minor in Fashion History and Culture, she expanded her portfolio and worked with successful art professors. Alania has taken part in both, summer and winter, fellowship research programs to grow her knowledge of creating films. She spent lots of time outside of class working as Photography Director for UDress Magazine and Art Director for Synergy Fashion Group where she led teams and took part in creative direction to create a final magazine for the public. Alania gained professional experience in the industry as an intern for Philadelphia Fashion Week and Lehigh Valley Style Magazine.
With a life-long interest in fashion, she regularly incorporate it into her work, along with uncomfortable topics, such as political references. Her work is composed of dreamy visuals and soft, muted earth tone colors that achieve harmony and emotional resonance. Eager to share her visions with the world, Alania enjoys traveling and has taken part in multiple study abroad trips through her school. Alania aspires to create artwork that allows the audience to walk away with something. This can be the enjoyment of her artistic aesthetic itself, the reflection of her style and passion for art, or facing the impactful message that motivates the art piece.
